Install Leopard 10.5.6 on Dell Inspiron 530

After many frustrating hours, I finally succeed in installing Leopard 10.5.6 on my Dell Inspiron 530 system. Here are the specs of my PC:

Dell Inspiron 530
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
Nvidia Geforce 9600GT Video Card
4GB Memory
Integrated Realtek HD ALC888 Audio Card
Broadcom 802.11g Wireless
Hitachi 1TB Hard Drive
16X DVD-RW Drive

Many of these parts are upgrades from the original system. But overall all of these are playing nicely with the Mac OS.

If you have the exact system as mine, you can follow these instructions. If you have a different configuration, you may need to tweek around.

I am not going to cover what you can easily find on other web site. I will tell which kext works for me.

Chameleon with seatbelt kext
Nvject 2.1
ALC888 ad0
TOH speedstep

Don't worry about wireless driver, it should register by itself. As for audio, once it is loaded, be sure to go into System Preferences and click on Sound, then select Internal Speakers from the drop down list.

Everything should work, Internet, Xcode, everything. So good luck.
